CSW READATHON

WHAT IS IT?

The CSW Readathon is an intentional day for students who LOVE reading to come together and celebrate in that joy. For 12 hours, students will engage in all types of pleasure reading. Bring what you want to read and simply read amongst like minded peers, faculty, and staff. We simply ask that you engage in just that: reading for pleasure. Please leave homework at home. Reading can include physical books, ebooks, audiobooks, webtoons, magazines, newspapers, and more.

WHEN IS IT?

Saturday, December 2, 2023. 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the CSW Library

WHAT TO ANTICIPATE?

THE GONG

Every hour, the gong will ring. This is your time to take a 10 minute break. Stretch, use the restroom, enter a game hosted by Jeannette and Jenna, grab a snack.

THE PRIZES

Enter games and activities to win prizes that include new books and more. Think Bingo, trivia, and scratcher cards.

WHAT TO CONSIDER BRINGING

The Read-a-thon is long! Plan to make yourself comfortable and prepared to last as many hours as you can. Plan ahead and bring variety: some books, a device loaded with an audiobook (we have access to a vast library of audiobooks through SORA so set yourself up!), earbuds, water, and maybe a comfy chair or blanket or pillow to curl up with.

Students who listen to books often like to have something else to do while listening--a small knitting or crochet project, perhaps, or collage materials. We will have coloring book pages and markers at a table for you to use!
