NaturalReader

NaturalReader is a mobile app that can read aloud a variety of texts like PDFs, online articles, cloud documents, even images taken by your camera and so many more.

LOG IN (you will obtain an invite from Jenna)

1 Visit naturalreaders.com

2 Log in with your CSW Google Account

 CREATE A CLASS

1 from the homepage click CREATE CLASS under the drop dop at top right

2 Name the course; required big courses taught by multiple folks have been created already and you've been added to those. Small departments have department folders (think Health, Music, etc). This serves as a "shared" folder for each faculty member teaching that class or within that smaller department.

3 you are now ready to proceed to uploading files

UPLOADING FILES AND CONVERTING TO AUDIO

1 Select the Upload Docs button once you are IN the correct class page

2 Browse your computer for the pdf or doc

3 Select the 3 dots to the right of the document. Select Create MP3. Choose a voice and convert.

STORING AND SHARING AUDIO FILES

1 When audio file is ready, select download.

2 Save to a folder with the name Audio - COURSE

*If you are sharing readings with other teachers, please upload the mp3 to google drive and share directly with the teachers in your department who will need the audio file so that we can keep it for the long term.

UPLOAD AND POST TO MYCSW*

1 Navigate to your MYCSW Course page

2 Find location where you'd like to post reading

3 Select Downloads from the elements list and drag and drop on your course page. 

4 Add audio file to upload either via file on your computer or via Google Drive (if you uploaded it to Google Drive for shared use among other teachers)

4 Save

*do not share on any other website besides behind MYCSW

PRO TIPS

Make a Topic Page in MYCSW called "READINGS + AUDIO" and add to topic bank.

Share a link to the Google Folder containing audiofiles on topic page (anyone with the link can view). Will automatically update the topic page any time you add a file.
